I would not consider myself a Joomla "expert" in the same sense as the Joomla development team, but I have a handful of sites running it and have written a few extensions. So I can probably answer SOME questions.

I have only been using PHP for a short while over my 30-year professional programming career. I have a good grasp of it, but I still reference the online manual quite a bit. I can usually explain things people don't understand about the code they are trying to modify or write.
